Individual Piping and Drumming events start at 9 am on Saturday, and 8 am on Sunday. Competitors will be notified of their competition times in advance. A Drum Major clinic will be held Saturday and Sunday on the Main Field. The Clinic finish will be the Drum Major Competition on Sunday immediately following the Pipe Band Competitions on the Main Field.
The finale of each day is the closing ceremony where all bands will join the Massed Pipes & Drums of the Canmore Highland Games, at 4 pm on Saturday and 5 pm on Sunday.

Drum Major Clinic and Competition

Aug 31 and Sept 1, 2024
The workshop will take place over two days (both Sat. and Sun.) and introduce the fundamentals of Regimental Drum Majoring, including dress & deportment and essential drill and mace movements. It will serve as both an intro and/or refresher for practicing Drum Majors and will prepare the participants for competition during the afternoon of Canmore Highland Games on Sunday, Sept. 1.

Registration and Check-In
- Please pick up your kilt numbers at the Piping & Drumming Tent at the west end of the main field.The Piping & Drumming Office opens at 7:30 am.
- Only pre-registered competitors will be accepted – no same-day entries available.
- ALL COMPETITORS – PLEASE BE AT YOUR JUDGING PLATFORM AT YOUR CORRECT, POSTED TIME.
Individual Pipers & Drummers
The Piping and Drumming competition for individual competitors begins at 8:00 am, Sunday. These continue until all entrants have played.
You must be properly attired in Highland dress (with the exception of Novice Chanter and Drum Pad players) and your kilt number must be pinned to the front of your kilt. No competitor will be allowed to play without a kilt number.
Bands
Band Competitions take place on Sunday in the afternoon, beginning at approximately 1:30 pm.

Massed Bands
Participants to begin lining up for Massed Bands at 3:30 pm on Saturday, and 4:30 pm on Sunday. Massed Bands performance, piping & drumming awards and closing ceremony to begin at 5 pm, Sunday.
